Google Gemini App Expands in India with Multi-Language Support

Google is broadening the availability of its Gemini mobile app in India, now supporting nine local languages to cater to the diverse linguistic landscape of the nation. The newly integrated language options include Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Gujarati, Punjabi, and Malayalam. This enhancement is particularly significant considering that English fluency in India is not widespread, hovering around 10% according to Kantar IMRB. Google’s initiative to incorporate regional languages is likely to bridge the accessibility gap and attract a broader user base.

Google’s investment in India does not stop with the Gemini app. The tech giant has previously launched several tailored services such as a localized search engine, the payment app Tez, and Google Cloud Platform India.
